The Mining for Skills blog aims to start a conversation with the players in the resources sector to discuss the problems and potential solutions to the resources talent gap. Already, there are individual companies in the resources sector doing a good job on training and development, upskilling their workers and attracting new recruits into the industry. However their investment isn’t having the impact that is needed – that will only come from a joint effort from government, educators and industry combined.
This site is an opportunity for collaboration. We want to hear from people working in the sector, educators, government, big resources companies. Solutions to the skills shortage won’t come from just one of these areas – it will require working together to identify the problems and implement solutions.
